THE ARTIST

Hello! My name is Shaelah Perales, and I paint for beautiful humans (so all of them) but particularly those adventuring into the glorious unknown.

What is the “glorious unknown”? It is the future we don’t yet know — The future that so many of us tend to seem as ominous, impossible, and worthy of creating anxiety within us. But my question is, “who is to say that the future is not wonderful?” Tomorrow is a blank canvas. Let’s begin painting a new picture.

My art business and motherhood have grown hand-in-hand since 2021. Over the years the Lord has used my daughters, painting process, and journey of the business to help me find freedom, joy, hope, fun, and wonder. I love reciprocating these gifts, offering opportunities to my kiddos and collectors to live in their freedom, joy, hope, fun, and wonder.

My approach is deeply adventurous, playful, and always collaborative. When I paint with my girls, their curiosity and resilience inspire me to let go of fear, embrace boldness, and create with wonder. They often lay down the first strokes, drips, or smears of paint, and I follow, bringing order and beauty one brush stroke at a time. It’s less about erasing what’s beneath and more about transforming it—layer by layer—into something whole, ordered, and alive. This process reminds me that the messiness of life can hold beauty if we are patient, hold it with open hands, and approach with expectation.

When I’m not painting, I’m keeping house and adventuring with my family—beach, parks, hiking, rock climbing, camping, cycling... Anything outside near our home in San Diego county. Outdoor experiences ground me, connect me to my own Creator, and fuel my love of painting.

My hope is that my work invites you into hope. That it’d be a reminder that even in the unknown, there’s beauty waiting to be discovered.
